Machine not performing as well as usual
Check for blockages
Unplug the machine.

Allow to cool before proceeding.
Do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If children are present, consider positioning the heater out of their reach.

Check the air inlet holes and loop amplifier for blockages and remove as necessary.
Use a soft brush to remove any debris.

Machine has cut out
Unplug the machine.

Allow to cool before proceeding.
Do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If children are present, consider positioning the heater out of their reach.

The heater is fitted with an automatic cut out switch that operates if the heater tips over or overheats.

Stand the machine upright on a solid level surface and switch on.

My machine is not oscillating
Plug the heater in and switch on at the wall.

NB: Before switching on, please make sure the heater is positioned so that the airflow or oscillation is not obstructed.

Ensure that the machine is placed on a stable solid surface.

Turn the machine on using the ON/OFF button on the machine.
Press the oscillation button on the machine.

NB: The fan will not oscillate when the other control buttons are pressed.

My machine displays E1 error message
An E1 error message will display if the machine is switched off at the plug or if the plug is removed and then switched back on again quickly while the heater is running.

Unplug the machine.

Wait for a few seconds until all lights on the machine to go out.

Plug the machine in and switch on.


My machine is not heating
On first use, the heater will default to a temperature 1°C higher than the current room temperature. Thereafter, the heater will remember the last target temperature set.

The heater will not operate unless the target temperature is above the room temperature.

Switch the machine on.
Increase the target temperature above the temperature of the room.

Assembling your Dyson Fan
  • Align the black arrows located on the base and main body of the machine.
  • Twist the machine clockwise until it locks, as shown below.
  • The remote control docks magnetically on the top of the heater as shown below.
