“We want to achieve zero landfill before 2010. Installing the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer has cut tonnes of paper waste and costs less than a year’s supply of paper towels. “

Debbie Rusk,
Environmental Officer, Robert Wiseman Dairies

The new procurement facility in Bridgewater, Somerset is designed to lower environmental impact.

Robert Wiseman Dairies process and deliver over 1.5 billion litres of milk a year. As one of the UK’s leading dairy companies, minimising environmental impact and maintaining exacting standards are key. For Environmental Officer, Debbie Rusk, that meant assessing every part of the business. “We wanted to replace paper towels in our production area. We examined a number of options and concluded that the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer met our standards for milk processing – antibacterial casing, a HEPA filter and hands free operation.”

The DEFRA Milk Roadmap was launched in 2008 – a government scheme to reduce energy and landfill waste from the dairy industry. “The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers have helped us towards meeting initial targets,” adds Debbie. “They’re providing a significant cost saving and cutting our landfill volumes.”
